How long will my claim take?

Each claim is unique and different factors can affect the length of the claim.  Randall & Vickers Ltd will always speed up your claim whenever possible.  Below are some estimates for the different types of claim you can make with us:

Council Tax: Around 8 weeks

Credit Card Charges: 7 to 12 weeks

Bank Charges: We have to wait for the High Court case to be decided.  This should be around January 24th

PPI: Depending on the particulars of the case this can take anything from 4 weeks to 4 months

Can I make the claim myself?

Yes you can make the claim yourself if you have the time, funds and confidence to take your claim to court if necessary.  If we make the claim for you we will take care of everything.  You just have to fill in our very easy form and then sit back, relax and if it’s successful we’ll send you a cheque on completion.

Whether you make a claim yourself or use Randall & Vickers we would advise you to claim sooner rather than later to ensure that you receive everything that you’re entitled to.

How much do I have to pay?

We operate on a No Win No Fee basis.  Upon successful completion of the claim our flat rate fee is 25% + VAT (29.375%) of the compensation awarded. Please click here to see how our fees are charged in more detail.

I have already started to claim myself, can I still use you?

Yes.  Randall & Vickers Ltd can take on your claim once it is in process.  We tailor our service to each individual, so we can adapt to whatever stage your claim is at.  Even if your complaint has been rejected, we can often still pursue compensation.

Can I claim for closed loans/accounts

Yes.  If you were unfairly charged then you have a right to make a claim.  Just fill out the form as usual and we’ll do the rest for you.

Will the bank close my account if I claim against them?

None of our clients have ever suffered as a result of making a claim however you should be aware that it is a slim possibility.  There were reports of people having their accounts closed when people first began complaining about bank charges, but this hasn’t happened recently.  If a bank or any other institution did close your account because of a claim then we would raise an official complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service, citing retaliatory action against you. This could even be more damaging to them than the claim itself.

Why are so many houses in the wrong Council Tax band?

When Council Tax was first introduced in 1993 the price of the tax was based on the property’s value.  Properties were classified into different tax brackets or bands.  These bands relate to the value of the property in 1991.

Due to the huge task of assessing every property in the whole of the UK a lot are in the wrong band.  The job was rushed and in many areas it was outsourced to estate agents.  Sometimes they would perform what the industry call “second gear” valuations - they wouldn’t even stop the car.  Other houses were valued by memory, where the agent would give best guesses on roads they were familiar with.

A lot of mistakes were made.  If your property was incorrectly valued you could have been paying too much council tax for years.

I’m not sure if I have a PPI policy or not?

PPI mis-selling has been so extreme that some people have been sold PPI without even knowing about it.  If you suspect that you may have been sold PPI then apply as usual and we can find out for you.
